Getting To Know You
The start of a new set of rehearsals is a good time to join us, so before that on Sunday 8th August, we’re having a tea party so you can come and find out more of what we’re about and whether you’d like to join us. Just turn up for a cuppa and a cake, a chat and maybe a song!

Who Are We?

We are a group of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trangendered people from around the Thames Valley who enjoy singing. We are of mixed backgrounds and abilities – you’re not expected to have any experience, to read music, or to have an audition (although our musical director will need to check which section you’ll be singing in).

Our concerts include the whole chorus, small groups, duets and solos so you can decide how much of the spotlight you’d like!

See "Gallery" for more pics

What do we sing?

We sing jazz songs, the blues, songs from shows and anything else that seems like fun to do. Our repertoire has included Handel, Verdi, Beethoven, Haydn, Strauss, Offenbach, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Bon Jovi, Queen, Abba, Coldplay, Billy Joel, Leonard Cohen, Cole Porter, stage musicals and movies. There’s sure to be something for everyone!

New Members Invited to Join

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trangendered people are invited to join Reading Gay Chorus. All you need is a desire to sing. Please note that no experience is required and there will be no auditions. Just come along to one of our rehearsals and have a go.

Where and when do we practice?

We get together every Sunday 16:00-18:00 at South Street Arts Centre, Reading (and for a bit longer as we get nearer to a concert).
